Because it is waterproof and will stand up to the elements,
Mister Glue’s Instant Glue is one of the best outdoor adhesives.

Hunting & Camping

  • If you Fletch your arrows or want to repair a fletched arrow then definitely have some of Mister Glue handy. The glue dries extremely quickly and dries clear. So, if some of it spreads from underneath the feather then it will not be visible – unless you look very closely. To prevent this use an extremely small amount.

Ideally, use an arrow fletcher or fletching jig. Apply the smallest amount possible to the surface that you are going to attach to the arrow. I will normally use a pin or toothpick. Put a small drop from the bottle onto the toothpick then onto the surface of the arrow vane that you are going to attach. Use the smallest amount possible while still allowing it to spread over the whole surface when you attach it. The best bond with this instant glue is when the two surfaces are as close together as possible – the tighter the fit the better the bond. So, if you apply too much it will run down the length of your arrow and you will have to clean up.

The bond is pretty much instant but let the fletched arrow sit for a few hours for the glue to fully cure. If you are repairing the fletching in the field, you can use it immediately it will not come off.

Mister Glue dries clear so if some does squeeze out it will be pretty much invisible. It won’t discolor like super glue or Krazy Glue when it dries.

You can also use Mister Glue for repairing rubber and neoprene rain gear and waders.

  • One is mostly gluing wood to wood or wood to metal in knife handle repair or when making a knife handle. Sometimes one will use plastic. Mister Glue will attach these materials to themselves and each other very easily. You can also use it for a leather knife handle without discoloring or damaging the leather.
Mister Glue will give an instant and permanent bond which is waterproof. Ideally, the closer the fit, the tighter the bond the better it will be. The bond is instant or within a second or two depending on the material being glued.

Using Mister Glue to make a knife handle place a small amount of the glue in one side only. The main reason that you do it this way is that you do not want too much glue. Too much glue will make the bond too thick and weaker. The closer the two pieces fit together the stronger the bond. I try to get enough so that when the two surfaces are pressed together the glue spreads evenly and covers the surface completely and as little as possible squeezing out. You only need to hold the two pieces together for a few short seconds. Then set aside to cure. Full cure time is a few hours but if you need to continue working with the piece it is set and you do not need to be afraid of it coming apart.

I also try as much as possible to put the glue on the least porous side. For example if you are making a leather knife handle place the glue on the metal that you are going to attach the leather to. Ifyou have to glue the leather to leather you may want to spray and mist on the leather first to keep the glue from soaking in too much. But if you do this make sure that you leave it for a little bit so that the surface is not wet.

Mister Glue will also wick. If you are making a knife handle of wood to metal for example and you can tell that the glue did not spread completely then put a drop where the metal and wood come together and it will wick in and bond the materials.

Oil or stain the wood on the outside before you glue it if you do it this way. Sometimes the glue may slow down the staining process if you for some reason do it afterwards.

You can also use Mister Glue with a bit of sawdust to fill gaps in the wood if there is a split or gouge. If you are sanding with wood and a gouge or split appears place a small amount of sawdust on the gouge and a drop of Mister Glue. Sand it smooth. A split can be repaired by putting a drop of the glue at the edge of the split and again it will wick in. Hold the two pieces tightly together for a few seconds.
Mister Glue dries clear and is waterproof. It is a cyanoacrylate - same base as super glue - but is an industrial grade so the solvents have been completely distilled out making it many times stronger.

Mister Glue’s Instant Glue also will repair a crack or chip on the wooden stock of a gun. It also dries flexible so it works very well for repairing an air mattress.

Fishing & Boating

One glue for all your fishing needs!

Mister Glue is designed to bond even your Soft-bait plastics. It remains flexible and is completely nontoxic. And it’s completely waterproof!

Fresh water or salt water use
Combine colors and styles of your tubes and worms, etc.

  • Make a lure or repair one with Mister Glue. Use it at home or have with you when you are fishing. Homemade fishing lures, if made from softer plastic will remain flexible. Mister Glue is also waterproof so will not come apart at inopportune times. When cured it is non toxic and completely biodegradable.

All your jigs, lures, plugs, flies, etc can break or crack. Many are made from more than one material and having Mister Glue on hand to do repairs instantly keeps that favorite lure in the water.

If you are tying fishing knots to repair or make a fish lure then put a small dab of Mister Glue on the knot to keep it fast. It will keep the knot from slipping.

Occasionally you will come across polyethylene or polypopylene but an accelerator will work even here when making your homemade fishing lures. So, you should be able to use as a soft bait glue.

When using Mister Glue use a very small amount. Place a tiny bit on one side and press the two surfaces together as closely as possible. The tighter the fit the better with Mister Glue. If I'm attaching two very small pieces I will use a toothpick or pin to transfer from the tip of the glue bottle to the surface that I'm gluing. Mister Glue is classified as an irritant so keep things ventilated when using.  Once cured, though, it is completely non-toxic and also is biodegradable.

Mister Glue will bond pretty much anything to anything so you can use for bit of feather in tying flies, or metal to wood or cork. You should be able to use this glue for making and repairing plugs, bugs, spoons, spinners, jigs, sinkers, flies and just about any combination of materials.

When at home keep Mister Glue in the freezer. When out and about keep it as cool as you can but it is not going to go bad in a weekend or week in the heat. Just keep it cool long term. You can keep in your cooler in a plastic sandwich bag.

  • Mister Glue can be used for many of your Fly Tying materials:

    Zonker strips
    Dragon’s tails
    Various beads, eyes, cones, barbells
    Squirrel skin
    Rabbit skin/fur
    Most synthetic material
...and a hundred other materials - to themselves and each other: Mister Glue will easily bond dissimilar materials.

Non porous materials will usually bond well with just Mister Glue.  If you are trying to bond rabbit or other fur(basically leather) - a porous material -  to something like sheet foam, then use in conjunction with our Accelerator.  Use the Accelerator on the more porous material, in this case the leather part of the fur.

Drawbacks of Mister Glue: it is not always great on fabrics.  Also, the glue does need a good fit so sometimes a round shaped object bonding to another round shaped object might give you a bit of difficulty.

Mister Glue will dry flexible.  The finished product will be waterproof.  It also dries clear and will not discolour any of the materials that you are using.  It is classified as an irritant - when dry is completely non toxic.

The short video below shows applying rabbit fur to sheet foam.

  • Repair waders instantly with Mister Glue. Waders that are made from neoprene will melt using super glue or Krazy Glue. There are other glues that are specific for wader repair but it very specific glue and cannot always be used for other materials. The beauty of Mister Glue is that it can be used on almost any material.

It is an industrial cyanoacrylate glue(same base as super glue) but has been distilled several times so that the solvents have been distilled out. The solvents in superglue are what melts or eats away at neoprene. So, it can be used for neoprene wader repair without damaging the material.

If you have a tear in the material run a bead along one edge then press them closely together. You do not have to hold the two sides together for more than a few seconds. Because the solvents have been distilled out the glue also dries flexible. Other cheaper glues will get brittle as they dry. It is also waterproof so that you can go back in the water within minutes.

As I mentioned earlier there are other glues that are specific to the task but as Mister Glue can be used for almost any material it is the only glue that you need to bring with you. It will repair neoprene waders, hypalon or rubber boats or rain gear and most of your fishing tackle.

  • This technique will apply to pinhole leaks or tears in rubber dinghies, inflatable raft, air mattress or vinyl raft.

Blow it up hard and start spreading water with a bit of dish detergent mixed in it and watch for small bubbles. Use a magic marker to indicate the spot. Make sure there is not more than one. The valve can often be the difficulty. Ensure that the O ring is not worn or damaged. If so, replace it.
patch of the same material using Mister Glue's Instant Glue. Use a large enough patch. If too small, it could come loose. Even though Mister Glue's instant glue sets immediately, full cure time is several hours. If you can, leave it overnight.

To make the patch look less 'patched' cut to a shape of your liking. Make it look decorative.

If I'm out fishing or any kind of boating, particularly in something inflatable, I always have a bottle of Mister Glue with me. And some patches. Even a small tear can be repaired this way and get you back to where you started. Mister Glue is handy to have out on a trip as it can repair neoprene and most of your fishing gear, lures, etc. It has been know to use Also, you can use Mister Glue to repair your lures as well.

Cyanoacrylates have been used for suturing and in a pinch one could use Mister Glue to glue up a bad cut in the place of stitches. Not necessarily ideal but if you cut yourself badly and don't have stitches...

  • As Mister Glue will bond almost anything to anything (including your fingers) it will help mend all your snorkeling and diving equipment. It will bond rubber to rubber for your fins or rubber to metal for a knife handle. It will repair a tear in your diving suit and remain flexible and waterproof.

Mister Glue permanently welds rubber so for a diving suit that has torn or if a seam has come apart, dry the surface and run a very small bean on one side. Press the two surfaces together and within a few short seconds you can go back in the water.

Snorkels and masks can be repaired instantly as well if there is a tear or a gasket or seam separates. As Mister Glue will bond two different materials together very well you can bond plastic to rubber as well. If you have a mask or other accessory that is leaking run a small bead along the seam and it will be fixed. Make sure that the surface is dry and clean before you apply the glue.

Mister Glue works best when the fit is completely flush. The tighter the fit the better the bond. So, make sure that the two surfaces fit together snugly. Also, Mister Glue is very, very quick. Once you have the two pieces together, particularly with rubber, you will have no time to move them around to get them in the 'right' place. So, before you apply the glue, practice putting the two pieces together so you know where they are going.
