Instant Glue for Home Use

The one household glue that you need for a kitchen repair - knife handles or the gasket on a refrigerator door, - boots, shoes and kids toys, is Mister Glue. It, unlike superglue, will be there when you need to do a household repair of just about anything. Mister Glue will glue metal, wood, leather, and most plastics and the really beautiful thing is that it will not dry out in the bottle. The biggest complaint that I hear about superglue and Krazy Glue is that they are no good - dried out - when you need them. Keep Mister Glue in the freezer or refrigerator and it will last for years.

For apartment repairs such as loose or lifting laminate, a screw that has come loose in a door hinge - Mister Glue can fix them all in minutes. You are not going to do major house repairs with a glue like this but if any of the materials/items that are listed below need a fix then get it done quickly and permanently with this industrial cyanoacrylate. (And many, many others)

Mister Glue will bond like and unlike materials. It only takes a drop and is extremely quick. It is waterproof and non-toxic once cured so is generally dishwasher safe and also safe to eat off of. Also safe for children's toy repair.

  • Mister Glue's Instant Glue is perfect for toy repair. Mister Glue is completely safe for children's toys because it is, once set, completely non-toxic. Mister Glue is waterproof, so if the action figure is commonly played with in the bathtub or left outside in the rain, it will not come apart.

Children's plastic toys are generally made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene, polyethylene, and polypropylene. The harder plastics, such as PVC, are very easy to glue, and the bond will be pretty much permanent, so make sure that you don't ever want it to come apart. Polyethylene and polypropylene are much tougher to glue. Those are the softer, cheaper plastics—the same material your plastic gas tank is made from.

With polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other harder plastics, such as Lego, it takes the tiniest bit of Mister Glue to bond this material permanently. To mend the two pieces, just put the smallest amount on one side and hold the two pieces together for a few seconds. Before applying the glue, make sure that the two pieces of PVC match; that is, there are no gaps. The tighter the fit, the better.

More is not necessarily better with Mister Glue. You want to barely cover the surface. If you find that too much glue is coming out of the spout for the surface you are working with, you can first put it onto a pin or toothpick and then transfer it to the plastic toy or whatever. One side only. Press the two sides firmly together and hold for several seconds. For the harder plastics, it really should take only 10-15 seconds.

For the softer plastic toys (polyethylene, polypropylene), again, make sure that the two surfaces match up well. Then put enough Accelerator onto one side, using the brush, to cover the surface. Give that about 30 seconds or so before putting the two pieces together. Apply Mister Glue to the OTHER side. Again, not too much but enough so that it will spread to cover the whole surface. You don't have to wait with the glue, but there is no real rush either. Then press the two surfaces firmly together. You will likely have to hold this together longer. Then let it set for a while. It will hold; just don't put any stress on it for a while. You will probably want to leave it overnight.

Often, because you are pressing the surfaces so tightly together, some of the glue will squeeze out. If you wipe it with a rag or cloth or paper towel, it will smear, and in the case of the paper towel, it will leave some of the material bonded to the toy. The best thing is to leave it for a little while—not too long, but until the glue is not tacky or runny anymore. At this point, you can take a sharp knife and gently scrape the glue off.

The base of Mister Glue is called cyanoacrylate. It is the same base as Super Glue or Crazy Glue. The difference is that Mister Glue has had the solvents distilled out, making it pure and much, much stronger.

Mister Glue can be used for wooden toys as well as Warhammer figurines and action figures, whether metal or plastic.

    Wooden Toys

Wooden toys can be easily bonded with Mister Glue. Most of the time, you will need to use both Mister Glue and the Accelerator. Wood is generally porous, and if older, it will be more dried out and thus more porous. So, as above, apply the Accelerator to one side first, leave for 30 seconds, then apply the glue to the other side and firmly press the two surfaces together. Please make sure the surfaces have been cleaned of old glue first. It is not so much that Mister Glue won't bond to the old glue as it makes the surfaces uneven, and it is very important that the fit is very close and exact when using Mister Glue. If you have a partially broken wooden toy and it will press back together nicely, you can just squeeze some of the glue in. If you have the Accelerator, brush a bit of that in first. Mister Glue will wick, so you can use this product to repair wood that has separated but not enough to reach right in.

Much more information on bonding wood here.

If you really want to, Mister Glue will permanently bond Lego.

    Caution

Don't let your little ones use it to repair toys themselves, though—Mister Glue can quickly glue fingers or eyelids together.

  • You are about to go out for dinner, and your favorite heels, well, lost a heel.

Your son is flapping with half the sole of his sneakers hanging loose. Or the skateboarder with holes big enough for his foot to fall through.

Your husband’s work boots certainly have a few months left, but the rubber sole has separated from the leather part of the boot.

In a household of any size, you are eventually going to need some shoe or boot repair, especially if you have children. And with children and teens, you may want to do some fixing on their ice skates or rollerblades.

There are thousands of DIY products for repairing runners (sneakers) out there, but I’ll try to show you how you can do most of your home repairs with just one product.

Re-glue rubber tip or part of a sole on a pair of sneakers (rubber to rubber):

Ensure both rubber surfaces are dry.

Clean the surfaces thoroughly. One of the biggest barriers to Mister Glue is other, old glue. Use a degreaser and lightly sand if necessary.

Apply a small amount of Mister Glue to one side only along the edge so that it runs inward. The more surface area covered, the better.

    Press both firmly together.

If some glue squeezes out, you can leave it until it sets up a bit and scrape it off. If you wipe it, it will likely smear.

Set time is a few seconds, so the shoes can be worn right away. Full cure time is a few hours. (Note: Tennis shoes: the same applies. Mister Glue dries clear so you can keep those very white tennis shoes white!)

Reattach broken heel off pumps or high-heeled shoes (leather to wood):

Ensure that both surfaces are clean and dry.

Work the two surfaces together to make sure there is enough surface area and that they match up evenly.

If either the wood or leather is particularly dried out, apply a small amount of Accelerator (Primer) to the most porous side.

    Wait about 20-30 seconds.

Apply a line of Mister Glue around the edge of the other side. Crisscross the surface lightly.

Press the two surfaces very firmly together for about 10-20 seconds.

Usually, just give the bond a few minutes to cure, and you should be fine. Go party.

Fix a pair of fabric to rubber house shoes: (Note: normally, I would not suggest using Mister Glue to bond fabric. But people just won’t listen, and they go ahead and glue fabric to other things very successfully.)

As in other applications, clean surfaces of other glue, dirt, and grease.

Apply Mister Glue to the non-fabric surface. (If you apply it to the fabric, it will likely soak in too quickly and too far to be of any use.)

Press the two surfaces together for 10-20 seconds.

Add a few drops as necessary where the two surfaces have not closed up completely.

As I mentioned, Mister Glue was not necessarily made for fabric, but if done correctly, it seems to work. I had another customer glue 'hair' back to a vinyl mask—a Halloween thing—who told me it did a great job. But always apply the glue to the non-fabric side, then put the two together!

  • Installing stair noses on laminate flooring can be challenging, but with the right adhesive, the process becomes much easier and more reliable. Mister Glue is an excellent choice for this task due to its fast-acting and strong bonding properties. Follow these steps to achieve a professional and durable finish.

    Step 1: Prepare the Wood

Wood that has been stored for a while can be incredibly dry, which can affect the glue's performance. To prevent the glue from soaking in too quickly, lightly mist the surfaces with water. You don't want the wood to be wet, just damp enough to hold the glue on the surface. If you apply too much water, let it sit for a bit to soak in.

    Step 2: Apply the Accelerator

Mister Glue works best when used with its Accelerator. Apply the Accelerator to one side of the stair nose. The provided brush is small, so consider pouring some Accelerator into a small bowl and using a small paintbrush for quicker application. Allow the Accelerator to be exposed to air for at least 30 seconds.

    Step 3: Apply Mister Glue

On the opposite side of the stair nose, apply Mister Glue. Focus on the areas that will make contact with the other surface. Apply a thin bead of glue along each area, ensuring there is enough to cover the whole surface when pressed together, but not so much that it squeezes out excessively.

Step 4: Fit the Pieces Together

Ensure the two pieces fit well before applying the glue. Practice the positioning to know exactly how they will fit together. Once you apply the glue, you will not have a second chance to adjust the fit due to Mister Glue's fast-setting properties.

    Step 5: Bond the Pieces

Press the glued surfaces together firmly. Mister Glue sets very quickly, so make sure the positioning is accurate. The bond will form within seconds, and the pieces will not come apart once joined.

    Step 6: Test the Bond

After bonding, apply pressure to test the strength. Mister Glue creates an incredibly strong bond, ensuring the stair noses remain secure even under heavy use.

    Conclusion

Using Mister Glue for attaching stair noses to laminate flooring is an efficient and effective method. Its fast-acting and strong bonding properties make it the perfect choice for ensuring a secure and professional finish.

  • There is nothing worse than when a houseguest helps with the dishes and breaks a piece of fine china.  Mister Glue can fix it.  Nothing will make it perfect but it does a pretty good job.  If you take care to get the tightest fit possible, the resulting joint will be minimal.   You may not be able to see it easily but it will be there.  The better the preparation the less visible and the better the bond.  With materials like ceramic, we have bonded two pieces together and within an hour if you tried to break the bond is strong enough that it will break across the mended part.  It is now stronger than the surrounding material.

One needs to run a bead along the length of one side only.

Before applying the glue, practice a little fitting the two pieces together.  The less moving around of the two pieces once the glue is on there, the better the bond will be.  Also, the tighter the fit the better the bond.  Make sure the surfaces are cleaned of any dirt or dust.  Apply a small bead of glue to one side only.  You want just enough but not so much it runs all over.  Fit the two edges together.  Hold tightly for a few seconds and place to the side to set.  If some glue is squeezed out, leave until partly dry and then carefully scrape off using a sharp knife. As long as there is no dust in the glue, the resulting line should be pretty much invisible.

Most ceramic you can put in the dishwasher.  Some porcelain you may not want to.  Wash by hand to be safe.

The full cure time is several hours.

  • Loose furniture joints can be a pain if there are for example only one or two in the struts in the chair back that are loose. One has a choice of leaving the loose furniture to get worse or try and take the whole chair apart to re-glue which can be quite a project.

Repairing furniture when it is loose and wobbly can take a few minutes with a few drops of Mister Glue. If you have a loose joint but the fit is still quite tight when the dowel, leg or whatever is pressed all the way in then just add a drop or two of glue to the seam. It will wick into a dowelled joint and bond in a few seconds. One does not need to use wood clamps in this instance - the bond will be fully set by the time you get the clamps attached. The simplest is to press the two pieces together as tightly as you can with your hands.

A crack or split in the wood due to someone sitting too heavily or some such can be repaired the same way. If you can open up the split a little without making it worse then do so and squeeze a small drop or two into the crevice. Then press the two surfaces together. Again it will take only a few seconds to repair wood this way. Again, it will wick in nicely.  (See Video below)

If you have put a bit too much and some squeezes or beads to the surface then leave it to set up instead of wiping. If you wipe it, it will smear. At that point, it is much more difficult to remove. Let the bit of glue that squeezed out set for a bit until it has hardened some; once it has set up a little then just take a sharp knife and scrape it off.

Although one uses the tiniest bit of Mister Glue in repair like this if you are doing a major repair - taking the whole chair or table or whatever apart then it is probably much wiser to use a white or yellow carpenter's glue.

If you are able to separate the two pieces that you are gluing enough remember that you need to apply very little Mister Glue and only to one side.

Mister Glue will last you years if you take care of it. It is an industrial-grade cyanoacrylate (super glue) making it much stronger than super glue or Krazy Glue and it does not dry out in the bottle.

    Wood to Other Materials

Mister Glue will bond almost any material to wood as well. Metal, most hard plastics like PVC and loran, ceramic and many others. When you have a porous material like wood use the Accelerator to prime it. Apply Mister Glue to the other side or other material.

  • Sometimes, a small section of laminate on a countertop lifts at an edge where it could easily get worse if not repaired. These minor issues often seem too small to fix easily. While there are various glues available to fix laminate, many are not easy to apply to small lifted edges. The stresses on laminate or vinyl can cause it to lift slightly, so the best type of glue to use is one that can wick into or between the created crack. Mister Glue is thin enough to flow or wick easily between the raised bit of laminate and the surface beneath it. Also, with this particular cyanoacrylate (Mister Glue has the same base as super glue but is a high-end commercial version), the tighter the fit between the two surfaces, the better the eventual bond. This ensures you won't end up with a small raised section due to the thickness of the new glue. A very small amount will spread evenly because the surfaces will be very close together.

If the raised part is on a flat surface of the laminate countertop, put the tip of the bottle at the edge of the separated part and squirt a very small amount into the gap. If this edge is fairly long, run the tip along as you squirt the glue. Press very firmly on the lifted area once you have applied the glue. Use your palm or a small piece of wood, or something else that is flat, to apply even pressure. This pressure on the vinyl or laminate should only be needed for 30 seconds or less.

If the fascia part of a laminate countertop has come loose, remember that Mister Glue is very runny, and gravity is involved. Place something underneath to catch any drips—you don't want to have to clean up unnecessarily. Cardboard is a good option, as paper or fabric can make matters worse; Mister Glue can run through the fabric or drop cloth and stick to the floor or whatever surface is underneath, compounding the problem with fabric stuck to a vinyl or wood floor with a super glue-type adhesive.

Another issue you may have to contend with is some glue squeezing out from the seam between the two parts of the laminate. If you wipe it with a cloth, it will smear. Acetone will clean it up but can also damage your laminate or vinyl countertop. I suggest leaving the bit of glue that has squeezed out of the seam for half an hour or so. Once it has hardened enough, use an X-Acto knife to gently scrape the excess off.

  • How to repair chips in granite:

You can repair granite chips almost seamlessly with Mister Glue. The nature of this glue makes it so the tighter the fit of the two pieces the better the bond. Mister Glue is an industrial cyanoacrylate which is the same base as superglue or Krazy Glue. It has been distilled numerous times so that the solvents have been removed resulting in a product that is many times stronger than super glue.

If a corner has broken off a granite countertop clean both surfaces of dust and dirt. Try not to scrape or sand as this will change the shape making for an imperfect fit. Mister Glue will not fill gaps and as said earlier the closer the fit the better. It is a good idea to practice a little putting the pieces together because you do not have much time to move them around once they touch.

Once you know that the fit is exact, place a small bit of glue on one surface of the broken granite. Make sure that is enough that it will cover the whole surface - spreading when the two pieces are pressed together. Hold the two sections of granite tightly together for a few seconds - a bit longer if the section is larger. Some of the glue may squeeze out of the joint - leave that to dry up a bit then take an Exacto Knife and gently scrape off the excess. If you wipe it the glue will spread and possibly stain the stone.

Full cure time is several hours but it takes only seconds for a tight, secure bond to occur. Most of the time you will not be able to remove the piece within a few seconds.

If the granite is very porous you can use a bit more glue or an accelerator. Sometimes water will work as an accelerator - it primes the surface so that the glue will not soak in. If you use water to prime the surface, let it 'dry' before applying the glue. You definitely do not want a wet surface.

For a small granite chip on the edge of the seam that is still left after you have glued the two pieces, you can take a bit of dust from the granite - grind it and place it in the crack, and put a few drops of glue over it. Let it set then you can scrape or sand it smooth. It will be the same color but the finish will obviously be different.

  • Do you have a chip broken off your marble countertop?
How do you fix a cracked marble slab on a fireplace?

    What is marble?
Marble is metamorphosed limestone, composed of fairly pure calcite (a crystalline form of calcium carbonate, CaCO3). It is extensively used for sculpture, as a building material, and in many other applications. Pressure and heat create marble from limestone or dolostone. The various colors result from various minerals present.
Faux Marble is composed of marble dust and often synthetic resin.

    How to fix marble?

A corner broken off and marble countertop or fireplace hearth can be difficult to repair without leaving an ugly seam. Mister Glue needs a very tight fit - the closer the two pieces the better the bond - so it generally leaves much more than a hairline crack. This does depend on how the break happened and if the edges are still intact.
Take a light brush or cloth and remove any and all dust from the two surfaces that you are going to glue together. Apply the glue to only one surface. Make sure that you minimally run a bead around the edges so that it is sealed. Criss-cross it a couple of times so that when you squeeze the pieces together that most of the surface is covered. But do not use too much as was said before you want a tight a fit as possible. Gently squeeze the two pieces together allowing any excess to come out the edges. Hold tightly together for a few seconds. Thirty seconds should be plenty if it is a small piece. If it is a larger one then you may want to hold it longer. Mister Glue has a very secure bond within seconds but full cure time is several hours. If it is a much larger piece you may want to support it somehow. I have only tested this on smaller pieces not on the much larger.
The glue that has squeezed out the edges you can leave until it has dried a bit but not till it is too hard. Take a sharp knife and gently scrape off the excess.
If there are holes left because the edges are not perfect these can be filled with some marble 'dust' and glue. Place the dust in the opening/hole and add a few drops of glue. Let this cure fully and sand or scrape. It will not have the same finish but will be sealed and waterproof.

When you put the bottle away tap it down a couple of times and squeeze it gently to clear the spout. Store upright in the freezer and it will last you for years. Hundreds of uses.

  • One is mostly gluing wood to wood or wood to metal in knife handle repair or when making a knife handle. Sometimes one will use plastic. Mister Glue will attach these materials to themselves and each other very easily. You can also use it for a leather knife handle without discoloring or damaging the leather.
Mister Glue will give an instant and permanent bond which is waterproof. Ideally, the closer the fit, the tighter the bond the better it will be. The bond is instant or within a second or two depending on the material being glued.

Using Mister Glue to make a knife handle place a small amount of the glue in one side only. The main reason that you do it this way is that you do not want too much glue. Too much glue will make the bond too thick and weaker. The closer the two pieces fit together the stronger the bond. I try get enough so that when the two surfaces are pressed together the glue spreads evenly and covers the surface completely and as little as possible squeezing out. You only need to hold the two pieces together for a few short seconds. Then set aside to cure. Full cure time is a few hours but if you need to continue working with the piece it is set and you do not need to be afraid of it coming apart.

I also try as much as possible to put the glue on the least porous side. For example if you are making a leather knife handle place the glue on the metal that you are going to attach the leather to. Ifyou have to glue the leather to leather you may want to spray and mist on the leather first to keep the glue from soaking in too much. But if you do this make sure that you leave it for a little bit so that the surface is not wet.

Mister Glue will also wick. If you are making a knife handle of wood to metal for example and you can tell that the glue did not spread completely then put a drop where the metal and wood come together and it will wick in and bond the materials.

Oil or stain the wood on the outside before you glue it if you do it this way. Sometimes the glue may slow down the staining process if you for some reason do it afterwards.

You can also use Mister Glue with a bit of sawdust to fill gaps in the wood if there is a split or gouge. If you are sanding with wood and a gouge or split appears place a small amount of sawdust on the gouge and a drop of Mister Glue. Sand it smooth. A split can be repaired by putting a drop of the glue at the edge of the split and again it will wick in. Hold the two pieces tightly together for a few seconds.
Mister Glue dries clear and is waterproof. It is a cyanoacrylate - same base as super glue - but is an industrial grade so the solvents have been completely distilled out making it many times stronger.

  • Fix glasses almost instantly with a tiny drop of glue. Eye glasses repair kits are handy but most of the time the screws are not a perfect match and they can come out, they get loose and annoying and they fall out at the most inopportune times. . If you know you have a loose screw (on your glasses!) then you can fix it very easily and pretty much permanently with Mister Glue. I fixed one 3 years ago and it is still solidly in there. Fix glasses as soon as you notice the screws are loose and you won't have to replace the original with something that does not fit.

You need only the tiniest drop. Because you are using so little it is best to use a pin or toothpick or something to take a drop of Mister Glue to place it on the screw that is loose on your glasses frame. I make sure that the screw is backed off about 3/4 turn from being tight. Place a drop of glue on top of the screw - it will wick in - and then tighten the screw quickly. I would also advise putting the glasses on a flat surface so they are stable and if there is a drop that gets loose then it won't hurt what is underneath. It acts as Loctite - completely locking the screw in place.

Let it dry for a little while or the fumes can irritate your eyes. Mister Glue is a cyanoacrylate like super glue or Krazy Glue so use it in a well ventilated area. Similar products are Rhino glue, The Last Glue, Miracle Glue and Max 1.

Mister Glue is completely biodegradable and is non toxic once dry.
